The ministry of agriculture organised a rabbit training seminar late last year where about 40 rabbit farmers were taken through a vigorous 1 week training on commercial rabbit production in which i managed to attend. The training touched on Breeds and breeding, housing structures, Feeds, Market, Rabbit Disease control and cure, slughter, rabbit meat cooking etc.
The farmers were therefore equiped with the necesary skills to convert their rabbit farms into successful agibusiness enterprises.The government is upfront in seeing the rabit industry grow to a sustainable level. The Ngong multiplication centre has so far been renovated and farmers can therefore have access to better breeds at affordable prices.
